Itinerary of Sensation of South India in Detail

Days 01 : Bombay - Madras
Arrival: Bombay
Meeting and assistance upon arrival at airport while changing aircraft.
Arrival: Madras
Meeting; garlanding and assistance upon arrival and transfer from airport to hotel.
Afternoon, sightseeing tour of some of the highlights of India 's fourth largest city.

Days 02 : Madras
Morning excursion to Kancheepuram, known as the Golden City of a Thousand Temples. This is one of India 's sacred cities. Many early styles of temples architecture may be seen here. Visit Ekamvareshwar Temple , Kailashnath Temple , the Vaikunthaperumal Temple , all built in the 7th and 8th centuries. Kancheepuram has also long been famous of its silk weaving. Afternoon excursion to Mahabalipuram - an ancient coastal port - south of Madras . The five Rathas - a group of monolithic monuments and animals figures carved out of solid rock; the Shore Temple, lashed by the waves of the sea; and the hude frescos of Bhagirath. O/N at the hotel.

Days 03 : Madras - Trichy (316 Kms/ 8 Hrs)
Morning drive from Madras to Trichy, visiting enroute Srirangam - an island on the Cauvery River , a massive Vishnu temple. On arrival check in at the hotel. O/N at the hotel.

Days 04 : Trichy - Tanjore
Morning city tour of Trichy (Tiruchirapalli). The Rock Fort rise abruptly to a eight of 273ft. A steep staircase cut into the rock, leads upto the Fort. At the first level, are the remnants of a huge hall blasted into ruins in 1772. Finally, at the top of the hill, Ucchi Pillayar Koli a Ganesh Temple offering a commanding view of the city. Afternoon drive from Trichy to Tanjore. On arrival at the hotel. O/N at the hotel.

Days 05 : Tanjore - Madurai (128 Kms / 4 Hrs)
Morning city sight-seeing tour of Tanjore where you will stop to visit temples built during the 10th and 14th centuries. Later it become part of the Vijaynagar Kingdom.Afternoon drive from Tanjore to Madurai . On arrival check in at the hotel. O/N at the hotel.

Days 06 : Madurai
Morning city sightseeing tour of Madurai , visiting the Meenakshi Temple . Its Hall of a Thousand Pillars is fabulous and is filled with worshippers at all hours of the day. Also visit the Tirumal Nayak's Palace, which is in a highly decorative monument at thebes.

Afternoon free
Evening witness pooja ceremony at Meenakshi Temple . O/N at the hotel.

Days 07 : Madurai - Periyar (137 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Drive from Madurai to Periyar
On arrival check in at the hotel.
Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the surrounding. O/N at the hotel.

Days 08 :PeriyarCochin
Morning, cruise in the Periyar Lake in the cool surrounding and the Panorama spreads around tropical jungles, wild elephants, Indian gaur, monkeys, spotted deer, barking deer, wild base and birds of myriad varieties. With an area of 777 sq. Kms the wild sanctuary lies at an elevation of 914 metres to 1828 metres above sea level on the Periyar lake in the hills of western ghats. Afternoon drive from Periyar to Cochin . On arrival check in at the hotel. O/N at the hotel.

Days 09 : Cochin
Morning sight-seeing tour of Cochin , visiting the jewish synagouge, built over 400 years ago. It contains beautiful Belgian glass chandeliers and is paved with hand painted tiles from China . Visit the "Dutch palace". See St. Francis Church, the first European Church built in India . Afternoon you will take a motor launch cruise on the backwater of Cochin . After that, you will visit one of our coir factories where mats are being made from colorfully dyed dried coconut fibers; then proceed to the Bolghatty palace the islands with their traditional hamlets, and the fisher folk in their colorful costumes. O/N at the hotel.

Days 10 : Cochin - Bangalore
Transfer from hotel to airport in time for :
Departure: Cochin by air
Arrival: Bangalore
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer from airport to Hotel. Afternoon, city sight-seeing tour of Bangalore , known as the Garden City of India. Visit the lovely Lal Bagh. It's a whole world of greenery, huge old trees, lakes and quiet lotus filled pools. You will also visit the Bull Temple , Vidhana Soudha, Bannerghatta National Park , Nandi Hill. O/N at the hotel.

Days 11 : Bangalore-Mysore
Morning, leave Bangalore and drive for Mysore, via Srirangapatnam, (140 kms / 4 hrs) once the summer palace of Tipu Sultan, known for its fortress and tomb of the Warrior King. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon, you will visit the beautiful city of Mysore that is known for its fine craftsman - ship in wood, ivory, sandal - wood and silk. Visit the Manaraja's palace lavishly decorated in mixture of style. Also visit the zoological Garden, Chamundi Temple hill above the city. O/N at the hotel.

Days 12 : Mysore - Hassan (115 Kms / 5 hrs)
Drive from Mysore to Hassan route. Visiting Belur and Haysala Art. Also visit the colossal monolithic Jain Statue, 57ft height, which stands on top of a steep bare hill. On arrival check in at the hotel. O/N at the hotel.

Days 13 : Hassan - Bangalore or Bombay
Transfer to Bangalore airport in time for
Departure: Bangalore by air
Arrival: BOM / MAA
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer from Domestic to International
Airport in time for connecting flight for abroad.

Days 14 : Departure - Bombay / Madras .

KERALAS ENCHANTING BACKWATERS

Which once piled regularly in backwaters of Kerala carrying rice, coconuts, cashew nuts and spices. These boats have been modified to offer most exclusive experience to the tourists. They provide privacy and have a set of crew consisting of cook and two boatmen. There is a cozy bedroom with attached bathroom and even sundeck. The boat is propelled by two boatmen by two punting poles.

 

Itinerary of Keralas Enchanting Backwaters (8 days) in Detail

Days 01 : Flight from your country to Trivandram via Bombay or via Colombo .

Days 02 : Arrival in Trivandram and transfer to Alleppey. About 80 KM drive will take us to a point where we board the houseboats.

Days 03-07 : Houseboat cruise, the house boat will be slowly rowed by the boatmen through picturesque backwaters. You will be looked after with traditional Keralite meals with fresh fish catch for your delight. The boat will pass through important places.

Days 08 : Depending upon your choice of disembarkation i.e. either Cochin or Trivandrum , the boat will take you to the nearest point and then you will be transferred to the airport to onward connection.
